- Two years ago at the age of 47, I was constantly feeling tired and had no stamina. It was then that I set a goal for myself, to be as fit as I had ever been when I turn 50. That was quite a challenge for two reasons. The first reason was, as a high school and college athlete I thought I had been in fairly good shape. The second reason was that, at the time, I was definitely in the worst shape of my life. My weight was hovering between 230-235 lbs. And I was wearing the biggest pants I had ever worn in my life (size 40). Needless to say that I had to work pretty hard to carry around all that weight. It was no wonder that I was so tired all the time.
I know that I would never have had the drive, experience or knowledge to get where I am today without the guidance of my trainer, Amara Kamara. On the days I haven't felt like working out, I knew Amara would be waiting for me at the gym and he'd have some new butt kickin' workout in store for me. Having a standing appointment with a trainer helped to motivate me to get in there and get my workouts in.
The results over the last two years have amazed me. I currently weigh 188 lbs. Which is less than I weighed in college. I've lost 6 inches off my waist. My bodyfat has decreased by some 14% and I wear a size 34. I have not yet reached my goal, but from where I sit now, it's in clear view and that's a great feeling
